LESSON 5: ENDOR
(Training Lecture #5:
Infantry Mobile Training

(Alliance Infantry Mobile Training Facility, Lecture Hall as usual)

“At ease, please take your seats. Today I will talk about the battle of Endor. I guess that quite a few of you took part in that battle, although as navy personnel you were above the moon rather than on it.” Solo paused for a while, he noticed how several of the assembled personnel had stiffened at the mentioning of the historical battle that ultimately sealed the fate of the Emperor. While considered a resounding victory for the Alliance, the navy had taken horrendous losses trying to evade the Death Star super laser. The Liberty, the Magdalena; all gone, along with a number of other ships.

“As you all know Han Solo and Leia Organa led the ground assault team whose objective was to destroy the shield generator protecting the second Death Star. They had to face a legion of the Emperors best troops to do that, but got unexpected help from the native Ewoks. Similar to the Temple battle on Yavin IV, the Empire has a huge advantage in the form of AT-ST’s. These will occasionally walk into Ewok log traps, but will cause massive Alliance losses along the way. It is therefore imperative that you take the imperial command post from which they launch their attacks as soon as possible. This is called “the barracks” and is situated in a clearing just ahead of the shield bunker. You can start your mission anywhere you like, as long as you head for the command post as soon as possible. Use the vegetation as cover and try to sneak up on the troops guarding the post from behind. Tree trunks make for excellent blast shields. Take and hold the command post. Now you are in an excellent position to pick off troops leaving the bunker and heading towards the main battle in and around the Ewok village. If you stand at the post and face the bunker, imperial troops will attempt to sneak by you on the left side, go there and cause some damage. If you continue down the left towards the bunker you can use a hollow log for cover and get very close to the bunker entrance. Do that and take out the imperials manning the blaster cannons flanking the bunker. You and your teammates should now be able to head down the bunker and blow up the shield generator. Aim your grenades at the imperial crest floating in the right corner, don’t forget there’s a resupply droid in the clearing outside. Imperial troops can drop in on you at any time, so watch your backs! All you need to do now is to clear out the remaining imperial troops and dress up for the Ewok dance party! I can also recommend a trip in the woods and trying to catch an AT-ST as it walks into a log trap, it’s a rewarding sight!”
